Software Sales Executive
We're expanding our sales team and we're seeking a seasoned sales executive with at least 10 years of software sales experience to join our team headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Applicants with contacts and experience in the market research industry are highly desirable. In this role, you will engage with market research professionals and other key influencers to understand their analysis and reporting needs and present the MarketSight value proposition. It will be your responsibility to manage the entire sales process: to initiate, present, negotiate, and close software sales in two primary target segments: market research firms and corporate market research departments. This is a dynamic role that provides the opportunity to engage with many clients in a variety of settings, including in-person meetings, web-based seminars, industry events, and conference calls.
Responsibilities
- Identify individual prospects in well defined target markets
- Initiate contact with prospects to understand their needs and present our solutions
- Develop and deliver tailored, engaging, product demonstrations for a diverse audience to include executives, market researchers, business analysts, and IT professionals
- Negotiate and close deals, meeting quarterly sales targets
- Some travel will be required
Qualifications
- Four-year undergraduate degree required, MBA a plus
- 10+ years experience selling software
- Contacts and experience in the Market Research Industry
- Excellent presentation, writing, and verbal skills
- Ability to understand complex client challenges
- Ability to present and demonstrate our technology solutions to qualified prospects
- Ability to work effectively with minimal direct oversight
- Ability to learn quickly and consistently perform at a high level
- The skills and desire to thrive as part of a team
